The Ritz-Carlton’s First Resort in the Maldives

The Ritz-Carlton has opened a new property in the Maldives with a selection of overwater and seaside villas.

A 10-minute seaplane from Velana International Airport (or 45 minutes by boat), The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, offers an exotic getaway. Inspired by the circular formation of the lagoon, the state-of-the-art property is equipped with modern facilities designed by the late Australian architect Kerry Hill and houses more than 100 private accommodations.

The beachfront villas provide instant access to the island’s picturesque white sandy beaches, while the waterfront residences salute the flow of island life and revolve around a centrally located spa. Floating on the lagoon, the oval-shaped nine-room spa uses local ingredients such as heated sand, fresh coconut and herbs to enhance special treatments.

The villas have their own pools, indoor and outdoor showers, large lounge area and, depending on their location, direct beach access or overwater hammocks.

As for all amenities, guests are served 24 hours a day at sunset with organized activities such as drum shows, Maldivian cooking courses, beach cricket games and children’s arts, a “aris meeha” or personal butler that adapts every travel experience.
