Ilgın in the Classical Ages (Triatum – Yalburt)

by imleme

Ilgin was established as a large city state named YALBURT by Hittites between 2500-1200 BC, 25 km north east of the current settlement.

Hittites, who regarded the water sources as sacred, planted large stones around a spring and wrote religious and historical subjects.

Ilgın, which was called TRIATUM in the classical ages, attracts attention as an important city due to its location on the King’s Road.
